Shoutouts & Gratitude: Spring 2026
By Amanda Lang • April 16, 2026
In March, we had our big fundraising concert, featuring a music project by CSS clients, staff, and volunteers! We couldn't have done it without Jason Krueger (Shanty Town band manager and bass player), Truffle Jam, Wildish Theater, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Plank Town Brewing, Springfield Public Schools, our sponsors, and our in-kind donors. Thank you for helping to make the evening awesome!
Each year, the Oregonian/OregonLive supports a handful of nonprofits over the holiday season during Season of Sharing. In 2025, CSS was selected as one of the nonprofits, and we made $9,717 from their generous news readers! Thank you!
Bob is a steadfast donor of Cup Noodles, coffee, granola bars, and handwarmers. He drops off crucial supplies for CSS community members nearly every week! Sincere thank you for your compassion!
Did you know Eugene has a Shelter Consortium, a group of multiple organizations working together to help the unhoused? Among the orgs is Square One Villages, who donated pallet shelters to CSS. We're using them as Navigation Stations to help the unhoused get into housing.
A new Workforce Development program in Eugene is teaching CSS community members how to become bicycle mechanics. Thank you to Shift Community Cycles for helping people rebuild their lives with job training opportunities!
Major thanks to one of Eugene's favorite singing groups, the Raging Grannies, for performing to raise money for your unhoused neighbors! And shoutout to The Garden on Friendly for hosting the event and donating 50% of proceeds from the beverage cart to CSS!
With all of the new spaces we're building, updating, and moving into, we've had a distinct need for more furniture. Thank you to BJ Nightingale for donating furniture and office supplies, as well as clothing! Thank you to Bruce Able for donating a TV for the new Roosevelt Community Space!
Thank you to UO Sororities & Fraternities for hosting a supply drive to provide unhoused neighbors with clothing, sleeping bags, and survival gear. Collectively, they raised $4,585 worth of supplies! Special shoutout to Gamma Phi Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega for making 41% of that on their own, leaving the other organizations in the dust!
