Hello, Runners & Walkers - Join Team CSS

By Jennifer Yeh • Oct 25, 2026

We’re excited to invite you to join Team CSS for the 2027 Eugene Marathon weekend! Last year, we had an incredible group of supporters and CSS clients participate in the 5K - over 30 people! Seeing people experiencing homelessness cross the finish line alongside members of our housed community was a powerful reminder of what happens when we create opportunities for connection, belonging, and achievement.

Ready to run or walk with us at the 5K or do a longer race for CSS? Learn more and register here. The marathon has increased fundraising minimums for some races this year, so we encourage you to get started early and reach out to family, friends, and your community for support. Donations support shoes, clothing, and race registration for Nightingale residents and other clients, as well as year-round programming.

Not running this year, but still want to help make it possible for CSS clients to participate? That's amazing, thank you!! You can sponsor an unhoused individual to participate in the 2027 Eugene Marathon 5K for $150 here.

Anna, CSS staff, shares: "I've walked in the Eugene Marathon 5K for the past two years, and it has been one of the most delightful ways of connecting to the city of Eugene and our clients that I've experienced in my time at CSS. To pick our clients up at 6 am for the race, tailgate with Voodoo doughnuts and orange juice before walking to the starting line, being cheered on by neighborhoods and volunteers along the race route, finishing inside the amazing Hayward Field, and receiving a medal for completing the race--there's no better recipe for giving folks a renewed sense of pride and community belonging than that!"
